ANOINTED, BOLD, GOD-CENTERED, VISIONARY are all adjectives used to describe Pastor Cederick D. McMillan, I.,Senior Pastor of New Birth Community Church.

Pastor McMillan’s story is one of perseverance, patience and excellence. Pastor McMillan was born to Rev. and Mrs. Cedrick (Valerie) McMillan in Mobile, AL and graduated Cum Laude from Spring Hill College-where he doubled majored in Political Science and Theology. He earned his Masters of Liberal Arts from Spring Hill College and is currently pursuing his PhD in Human Services with a concentration in Family Studies and Intervention Strategies.

Pastor McMillan entered the Christian ministry and was licensed at the age of sixteen at Pure Word Deliverance House of Prayer, Inc., Eight Mile, AL. and was consecrated and ordained an Elder in 2008 by Bishop Cornelius W. Woods, II. at Pure Word Deliverance House of Prayer, Inc. For five years (2003-2008), God molded and honed Pastor McMillan’s gift and skills while at Pure Word Deliverance House of Prayer, Inc. because he knew what enormous tasks lay before him. God knew when the time was right a community and generation that many had dismissed would need Pastor McMillan’s leadership and strength if they were going to come to know Him.

In 2006, Pastor McMillan finished his first book entitled: How to Stay Spiritually Fit, which was released on the market in March 2008. He is currently finalizing his second book. Pastor McMillan co-founded, and served as the first Headmaster ofPrichard Preparatory School; he is the President of McMillan Investments, LLC.; President of the Center of Hope Community Development Corporation, and is a licensed real estate agent in the State of Alabama.

In early 2008, Pastor McMillan was called to begin a new church in West Mobile: “New Birth Community Church” under the covering of Dr. Ruby L. Eldridge and Pure Word Deliverance House of Prayer, Inc.. With the vision of empowering all people to know God through life changing experiences from the inside out, Pastor McMillan strives to minister to those who have given up on God, and the church. His God-given vision, considered “untraditional” by many, has proven successful in reaching a diverse group of people ranging in age, class, and color.

In addition to his ministerial work, Pastor McMillan is actively involved in the community. Two years ago, he was elected the new President and CEO of the Prichard Area Chamber of Commerce. Under his leadership the Chamber has grown over 30%. Pastor McMillan is a proud member of the NAACP and the 100 Black Men of Mobile.

Over the years, Pastor McMillan has received numerous awards, too many to name, among them are: induction into Theta Alpha Kappa, the national honor society for theology, induction into Pi Sigma Alpha, the national political science honor society, the Kiwanis International Outstanding Service Award, and George Washington Carver Visionary Award.

In his free time, Pastor McMillan enjoys playing golf, cooking, reading/writing, and traveling. Pastor McMillan is married to Whitney McMillan. They are the proud parents of Kayden Elizabeth, Madison McKenzie McMillan, and Cederick D. McMillan, II.
